"Wirehill Fox Terriers were established in 1965 by Kay and Lou Guimond at Mississauga, Canada, becoming permanently registered with the Canadian Kennel Club in 1984. The foundation bitch line here was from Irish breeding such as Baros and Dunwire, and from the United States Wildoaks and Evewire. The male line was Emperor, Statesman and Super Flash. The ginger line goes back to Gallant Fox.In addition to the Wires, Wirehill is a famous name in the Sealyhams, as the Guimonds owned the great champion Roderick of Jenmist, who spent his years of retirement with them, and the famous son of this dog, Champion Wirehill Roddy's Fella, Top Sealyham in the United States in 1985 Kennel Review System.

Returning to the Wires, top dog here is English, American and Canadian Champion Littleway McTavish famous Best in Show dog. Also there is American and Canadian champion Yelsam Craze, descended from Champion Aryee Dominator and Canadian Champion Deko Defiant (brother to Champion Deko Druid). Both Defiant and Druid were imported from England by Ted Ward, famous Canadian Terrier expert and father of George Ward.
Canadian Champion Duskie Revelation is a homebred Best in Show bitch, in whom Wirehill Kennels takes enormous pride. She is by champion Dimminsdale Fergus ex Champion Frolic, who is of evewire breeding."(1)
Wirehill is one of the few Kennels that have won B.I.S. on consecutive days with two different breeds. I had a handler on Eng. Am. Can Ch. Roderick of Jenmist and I (Kay) handled the wire Ch. Wirehill Duskie Revelation myself. The handler took B.I.S. with my Sealyham the first day and I took B.I.S. the second day with my Wire Fox Terrier at Woodstock and Tavistock All Breed Shows. The Wire was owner bred and conditioned.
We are founding members of the Wire Fox Terrier Club of Canada, members of the Terrier Breeder's Association of Canada and the Canadian Kennel Club.

Our Sealyham Terriers
|
We began breeding & showing Sealyhams in 1969 importing Happymac Sea Prince from David & Roberta Mocabee in California. Prince being a very handsome Sealyham, was ideal for our foundation male. He became a Canadian Champion with group placings after which we sent him to Peter Green who handled him to his American Title. He had some very nice wins especially at Montgomery, and then returned home where he sired many lovely specimens of the breed. He sired nine puppies to Jackie Duponts English Import. We then imported three females from U.K. Polrose Pleasant Party who went Reserve CC twice at Crufts and Reserve CC at Three Counties, Bath, Blackpool and S.T.B.A.
Soon after we imported Polrose Polyanthus and Torset Treasure Girl who became one of the top
producers U.S. We also imported the Eng. Am. Can Ch. Roderick of Jenmist and with our other males bred to these girls we produced many lovely champions and pet puppies. |
